Dear Wendy:
The Muscular Dystrophy Association hosted our Rockledge Lock Up to benefit the MDA on April 1, 2010 at the Rockledge Country Club. The MDA Lock Up is a fundraiser in which local community leaders agree to go behind bars for having a "Big Heart" and are responsible for raising bail to get out of jail. All bail raised goes to benefit The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and all it's Brevard County members. MDA depends solely on the support of the local community to raise the funds necessary to provide needed services to the families living in the same community in which we strive to raise money. Without the support of Brevard Executive Limousines this event would not have been a success.

On the day of the event Brevard Executive Limousines helped by "apprehending" our jailbirds and providing transportation to and from the Rockledge Country Club. Transportation for Lock-Up Events can at times cost the MDA up to $3,000, which greatly takes away from the services we are able to provide to our members. Ultimately the Brevard Executive Limousines helped us to keep our event expenses under 13%, which is fantastic!

MDA depends on the support of local law enforcement agencies to take part in helping our fundraising efforts. With your support we were able to raise over $71,000 for the local Brevard area. The needed funds are raised to provide services to children and adults that are diagnosed with one of the forty neuromuscular diseases covered by the Association. MDA is not a United Way agency and does not receive any state, federal, or local government funding. Every single dollar raised will assist in the payment or repair of leg braces and wheelchairs, provide a fun-filled week to the MDA summer camp for the children with muscular dystrophy, and continue the important research to one day find a cure for these devastating diseases.
